Instructor Introduction

  • 박귀덕

    Kwideok Park had received his PhD from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Iowa (Iowa city) in 2001. Professor Park currently works as a principal research scientist at Center for Biomaterials, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), a government-funded national institute in Korea. His research interests are extracellular matrix engineering, tissue (skin, cardiac, cornea, vascular) regeneration, soft biomaterials.

  • 김세훈

    Sehoon Kim received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Fiber and Polymer Science in 1996 and 1998, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2002, from the College of Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU). After research experiences as a post-doctor at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo, Dr. P. N. Prasad group), he joined Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in March 2008. He is now Principal Research Scientist at KIST.

    Hojeong Jeon received his B.S. (2001) and M.Sc. Degree (2004) in Mechanical Engineering from the Seoul National University, Korea. He holds a Ph.D. (2011) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, US. He joined Biomedical Research Institute at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in 2012 as a senior research scientist and was promoted to a principal research scientist in 2017.

    Song Joo Lee received her B.S.(2005), and M.S.(2007) in Biomedical Engineering (BME) from The Catholic University of America, US. She holds a Ph.D.(2013) in BME from Northwestern University, US.
    After her graduate and post-doc research experiences at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, US, she joined KIST in 2015 as a senior research scientist. 
    She develops tools and methods to understand and augment human sensory-motor performance for injury prevention and rehabilitation.

  • 최낙원

    Dr. Nakwon Choi is Principal Researcher at Center for BioMicrosystems, Brain Science Institute, KIST. He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Cornell University in 2010. After continuing at Cornell University as a post-doc, he moved to Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) and MIT as a NIBR presidential postdoctoral fellow. Since 2012, he has been focusing on developing enabling technology platforms related to hydrogel-based bioassays and brain/neural tissue engineering.
